300 dollar price drop!
This is one special scope, pics speak for themselves.
Meade 8 inch F6 primary with UHTC coatings. Secondary is also from Meade.
Dar mirror cell and Helical Focuser, I can replace the focuser with a focuser of your choice for the cost of the focuser. I'll eat the install price on this.
Protostar spider/secondary holder.
5A curly maple construction, 5A walnut focuser board/finder board.
Rigel Quikfinder.
Lovely views, ultra portable.
This is my finest scope to date.
1100US funds(was 1400), or reasonable offer. Can hand deliver and setup within 500 miles of Rochester, NY for 200.
The thread where some of the construction of this scope was detailed can be found HERE additional images are available, please inquire.
This is truly a superb little truss dobsonian that you'll enjoy for decades and have your friends admire forever.

Another great Looking Scope Jim !
First Class finish, and a great Price too.
Having just gone through it, I can imagine the hours it took to make the grain jump out like that.

Tell me about it !
My Truss dob has nowhere near the quality of finish as yours has, but even then, If I charged myself $10,- per hour for labour I couldn't afford my own scope.
I looked around for a long time, and any Truss dob I found for under $2000.- was considered to be of good quality if it was made of birch plywood and used no junk plywood.
Just two weeks ago at one of our public viewing events one of our members showed off his brand new Truss dob ( I think it was 13" ) made by a very reputable builder whom I know personally. Let's just say that I was glad I did not bring my Dob to the event. It would have looked downright flimsy next to mine, and he paid a good chunk of money for it.
Scopes like yours are just not found on the commercial market, It is people like you and I who build them for the love of the hobby that produce beautiful and functional scopes like this.
We'll never get rich doing this, because we always invest more into each piece than we'll ever get out of it. But hopefully we'll leave a little bit of beauty behind.
But there is also a practical advantage to this: The wife doesn't mind if you park it in the dining room, because it is also a good looking piece of Industrial Art. ( it's supposed to be very IN right now)
